The Long Reach High School Band - "The Pride of Long Reach"

Students are strongly encouraged to take private lessons on their instruments. The following is a list of instructors with comments initiated by the instructors themselves. Long Reach High School makes no claims on the abilities of any of these instructors. We rely on feedback from the instructors to keep the list current. If you have any comment about this list, find some inaccurate information, or if you are an instructor that would like to be added to the list, let us know by Emailing Us.

There are instructors that we have lost contact with and perhaps are no longer teaching or have left the area. These are still on the list for now. The general rule is that if there is an email address listed, we have made contact with them and they are still teaching.

We really make no claims on the abilities of any of these instructors, but it is clear by gathering this information that there is an abundant amount of musical talent that exists in the area. We encourage you to take advantage of it.

Patrick McSwain 410-788-6398 All Levels	Mr. McSwain teaches after school hours during the week and will travel to the student's home for lessons. Arrangements can be made at school for timpani lessons. He also prepares students for All County/All State Band. Grant Menefee 410-747-7849 Catonsville, MD All Levels All Styles	Mr. Menefee teaches percussion in his studio in Catonsville. Through his instruction, many students are preparing for solo ensemble. Notable students include Nate Morton, Jon Theodore, Evan Taubenfeld, and more. Mr. Menefee's students have performed with, among others, Vanessa Carlton, Avril Lavigne, SR-71, Lake Trout, and The Mars Volta. Robert Miller 410-992-1933 Columbia, MD	Mr. Miller teaches percussion in Columbia, Maryland (Bryant Woods Neighborhood, near Columbia Mall). Cost is $18/ half-hour lesson (unless it poses a financial problem). Mr. Miller has time for 8 private students and presently has no openings.
